The U18’s had another strong performance in a 74-32 win against West Bromwich
at the weekend. From the start of the
game the team moved the ball well playing unselfish basketball that created
countless good shots throughout the game.
After a couple of early team turnovers, Claire and Whitney worked well together, to score 13 of the team’s 15 first quarter points. While on the other end of the floor good team defence was making points hard to come by for the visitors.
The second quarter saw Denni & Sadie combine for 16 points to give the Wildcats a commanding 37-14 half time advantage. 7 early second half points form Denni kept the scoring going as Wildcats continued to move the ball well. Probably the most telling statistic for the Wildcats was the 24 assists with Whitney leading the way with 9. In the fourth quarter this good passing ended with some good shooting especially from Claire and Becky Ballantine as they hit 18 fourth quarter points between them.
The team shot 55% from the field and 100% from the foul line with the one key area of improvement being reducing turnovers. All in all a good team performance though.
