Tough loss for Wildcats Mini-ballers.

The Wildcats Mini-ballers development team had a tough loss against a bigger and more experienced Melton Kings team. With two girls and two boys making their first appearances for the team it was great to see more young players making the step up to competitive basketball.

The first half was competitive with Melton leading 19-14 at half time. The second half was a different affair with Wildcats struggling to find easy opportunities to score, moving away from the team basketball they played in the first half. This led to turnovers and easy baskets for Melton who ran out winners 37 points to 18.

Positives from the game were that the Mini Ballers played three females who are aged nine or below and 6 of the 12 players were girls. Coach Bishop said “it’s important to remember the results isn’t the be all and end all at this point and it’s about the individual development of players and their enjoyment of playing basketball.”
