Arrival of Haley adds even more depth to Wildcats.

Nottingham Wildcats have added further depth to their squad with the acquisition of Swedish guard, Alex Haley.

Born in Sweden, Haley has spent most of her formative basketball years in the United States, where she received a 4-year basketball scholarship.

The 5ft 8in guard is a graduate of Lindenwood University, were she started most of the games in in her final year, averaging over 24 minutes per game and recording 8.5 points per contest.

Haley, who majored in Exercise Science, is looking forward to furthering her basketball career in her adopted city of Nottingham.

She stated: “I am beyond excited for the opportunity to play for the Nottingham Wildcats this upcoming season.

“After playing four seasons of collegiate basketball in the United States, it has been a dream of mine to play professionally overseas. It is an honour to be apart of such a successful team and I hope to help the Wildcats continue their winning tradition”.

Head Coach, Dave Greenaway was pleased about his latest pick-up which he feels will add needed depth to a squad that should be completed in the next few days.

“Alex’s toughness and assertive playing style is a welcome addition to our basketball roster,” commented the play-caller.

“We are lucky to have her playing for us this coming season and she has been great integrating herself into our team philosophies.

“Her ability as a combo guard will give us some versatility in our backcourt rotation and expand our perimeter shooting options.

“I have also been extremely pleased with her positive character within the team – something that will assist in influencing great chemistry.”
